Guilin’s Karst Mountains

Guilin’s Karst Mountains Pin It

From the Rice Terraces in Longsheng we drove to Yangdi where we took a bamboo raft to Xingping, a small town between Yangshuo and Guilin. There we got the chance to see the famous scenery which is printed on the back of a 20 yuan note. Too bad we didn’t have this note in our wallets to take a cliché photo, but we took one with ourselves on it, good enough. The ancient village of Xingping was quite deserted and felt kind of creepy, especially because it was late already, so we left rather quickly. We ate something small, “bribed” a bus driver (not really, we just payed him more money so he would leave early instead of waiting for other people, so we had our private bus!) and we continued our journey to Yangshuo where we had booked a room with an awesome view over the karst mountains. After this short and intense trip through Guilin we took a train to Beijing where we would meet up with Nathan’s parents and sister.

We took a picture with the 20 yuan note scenery near the ancient village of Xingping, where we enjoyed some good dumplings afterwards!
