When I was younger, I remember seeing pictures of rice terraces and thinking that, once in my life, I wanted to explore a similar landscape. So obviously, our visit to the Longji (Dragon’s Backbone) Rice Terraces was a breathtaking, awe-inspiring experience.
After taking the night train from Nanchang to Guilin, we rented a car and drove to the Longsheng Rice Terraces. We had booked a room for two nights in the Baike Hotel, a super cosy hotel in what feels like the middle of nowhere with an awesome view over the rice terraces. They also serve good food, such as chicken in bamboo and yummy warm pancakes 🙂 I really recommend this hotel!
We weren’t really lucky with the weather, we couldn’t see that much because of all the clouds surrounding us and taking pictures of it was even more difficult, but thank god for RAW quality! Nonetheless, it was an epic experience and after a while, the clouds would eventually fade away.
The stairway to the beautiful landscape!
When we arrived at the hotel, the only thing we could see was a white veil of clouds surrounding our room. It’s not everyday day you find yourself in the middle of the clouds 🙂
